Occupation: retired Police Officer

Bike Type: Kuota Cobalt possibly upgrade prior to the ride

Why am I riding: A couple of years ago I lived in Broken Hill. A few of my friends began raising money and also commenced training for a 1000klm bike ride with all proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House. I learned a little about the organisation and its aims. I was fascinated firstly about the 1000klm bike ride. Last year I was lucky enough to be invited to the Ronald McDonald Ball in Adelaide. It was here where I was really touched by the guest speakers,  some children who spoke of their illnesses and the hardships they and their families had been through. They spoke of what Ronald McDonal House meant to them and their families. I was also moved by the giving nature of so many people at the ball.

I’m now in a position where I can devote my time towards fundraising for such a fantastic cause and, hopefully, to some serious training so I don’t embarrass myself.
